The Venture Strategy Group, part of the Unbuilt Labs Think Tank Ecosystem, is currently hiring part-time Engagement Managers. Please apply through Indeed: https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Unbuilt-Labs/

For full time positions, you can apply to either the operations track, such as marketing, technology, product development etc, or the research track. Our operations track includes a range of responsibilities including developing our research and insights gathering capacities, outreach, and so forth. As a think tank-media company hybrid, members on the operations track also author articles and reports on their findings. Our operations and research departments work closely together towards strategic foresight.

If you would like to be considered for the research track, please include at least one writing sample. This can be on any topic and can be as short or as long as needed. We are looking for a well-reasoned essay on a topic of your choice. A good essay should begin with an interesting question or observation. Whenever possible, please include PDFs of prior publications as well. We appreciate research from all fields!

Who we are looking for

We are looking for brilliant thinkers and creatives – we celebrate diversity and value all experiences. For example, one of the candidates we worked with was a professional florist before pursuing two advanced degrees, another was one year away from completing her Ph.D. program when she decided to go to Art School; others have founded non-profit foundations or have published in leading publications such as Nature and Harvard International Law Journal Online. All of our candidates have found success in their own right. Tell us your story!

The quest to build the go-to source of knowledge on Sustainable Innovation is as complex as it is ambitious. You will need not only a personal vision to guide you through the vast amount and range of information we handle on a daily basis, as well as an appreciation for how people, businesses, and governments interact — but also a practical mindset to accomplish what is possible. Needless to say, we afford all members of our team great autonomy to exercise their ambitions.

With autonomy comes accountability. As a media company, we are constantly under close scrutiny, and we impress upon our team to exercise great care in all communications. The work we do is testing but meaningful. We hope you will join us. Above all, we look forward to disrupting oligopolistic industries with you.

Our commitment to diversity

We believe diversity is crucial to Sustainable Innovation. We encourage people who are historically underrepresented in the research, think tank, and policy world to reach out. As part of our on-going commitment to diversity, we have also partnered with the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) to provide students from two-year colleges with a focus on first generation college students with opportunities to work with Unbuilt Labs.
